Diabetes mellitus or diabetes is a disease caused by abnormal function of the pancreas to produce insulin. DM also occur due to immune system function is impaired due to autoantibodies. Patients with DM is characterized by frequent urination (poliurea), lots of drinking (polydipsia), lots of eating (polyphagia), and blood glucose levels exceed normal blood glucose levels and incidence of complications in other organs. Given the result of a very dangerous disease of DM, the DM should be addressed as early as possible. The use of mushroom extracts god considered effective as alternative treatment of diabetes. Active substances in the mushroom gods in the form of linoleic acid and ß D glucan polysaccharides paa mushroom gods will boost the immune system. Protein content of the mushroom gods play a role in regenerating pancreatic beta cells so that increased insulin production. The purpose of this study to determine the effectiveness of god mushroom extract (Agaricus blazei Murill / ABM) to decrease blood glucose levels in mice (Mus musculus).
The research was conducted in the laboratory farmakognosi Putra Indonesia Malang during the month of June 2010. Research on the effectiveness of god mushroom extract made with the type of experimental research on laboratory animals who experienced DM mice. The population in this study is the god of cultivated mushrooms by PT.ASIMAS (CV ASIMAS, red) Malang, while the sample is the result of extraction of mushroom gods using 50% alcohol solvent. Analysis of data digunakanpada research results which ANAVA data analysis to determine the effect of the god of the mushroom extract reduced blood glucose levels.
The results showed that the use of god mushroom extract (Agaricus blazei Murill) can lower blood glucose in subjects with an effective dose of god mushroom extract (Agaricus blazei Murill) of 400mg.
Based on the research results are expected period of use of god mushroom extract (Agaricus blazei Murill) padapenelitian towards the object of research plus a decrease in order to obtain near-normal blood glucose levels. Further research needs to be done to mold the god as antidiabetic mellitus with other methods and then compare the results obtained to use mushroom gods can be developed.
