Jamur Agaricus blazei Murril (ABM)

INTRODUCTION

Agaricus blazei Murril (ABM) is a kind of mushroom, which is closely to family of Shitake (Lentinus edodes), belong to in one Family Agaricaceae with classification as follow:

Division : Thallophyta
Sub Division : Eumycetes (jamur sejati)
Class : Basidiomycetes
Sub Class : Holobasidiomycetes
Order : Agaricales
Family : Agaricaceae
Genus : Agaricus
Species : Agaricus blazei Murril

Agaricus blazei Murril (ABM) is from one city named Piedade, Saupaulo, Brazil. It is called by the name of Cogumello Do Soles or Cogumello De Deus, also been called by Himematsutake at Japan. With temperatures climatic condition 35° c in broad daylight and 20-25°C in the evening with humidity reaches 80%. ABM is influenced by environmental climate condition that is extreme. ABM only grows naturally on October and April and is so difficult to grow naturally so hard-to-find at nature. Normally size of ABM is approximately tall 10-15 cm with broad cover 7- 10 cm. ABM will inferior temperature with indirect the sun shines that measly.

The comparison of weight and volume is really important where in each 12 kg of fresh mushrooms of ABM just can result 1 kg dry mushrooms of ABM, and it can become less after arranged through a sort or a product selection.

ABM Mushroom can grow up on condition that is quite correct, so it would cause production unstable so it could meet consumption at local Piedad's region only. Even import to Japan be so difficult, after several years later, Japan tried to cultivate at outgrows in condition which be deeply controlled and it proved so difficult and can't secure stable production. Although then on year 1992, Kyowa had reached first time successful at the world to produce a large scale with bioteknologi company, so can provide ABM supply to meet the need of health food.

Now, ABM has been cultivated cultivated at Japan, Brazil, Korea, USA and Indonesia which is at CV. Agaricus Sido Makmur Sentosa located Malang, East Java. ABM that we (CV. Agaricus Sido Makmur Sentosa) cultivate is produced naturally and without any chemical. 30 years ago, a researcher from United States Of America had wiritten that the diseased existence at Piedade' s region was very low and was found because there was a habit of consuming ABM mushroom at that region.

Then, ABM was introduced at Japan. Dr. Shoji Shibata, a professor of pharmacy from Pharmaceutical Faculty of University of Tokyo and Dr. Tetuo Ikegawa from National Center of Cancers, was doing research on influence of pharmacy from ABM. The result then was published at Associate of Japan Pharmacy Convention and Associate of Japan Cancer. This experiment was done on variaty mouse and showed that polysaccharide of beta (ß) D Glucan on ABM is so ascendant to increase body invulnerability.

Two polysaccharides compound, which are available on ABM, are (ß) 1,3 D Glucan and beta (ß) 1,6 D Glucan. According to result test that was done at Medical Departement Of Tokyo University, National Center of Cancer Laboratory And Tokyo College Of Pharmacy, shows that compound on ABM is highest than compound on other mushroom, such as Reishi, Maitake and Shitake. Besides those polysaccharides' compounds, ABM also has other compounds on it such as ergosterols, linoleat acid and palmitoreic acid that are good as B6 and B12 vitamins.
